![]() ![]() Just mad sure you dont burn down a forest. Ofc you would have to use an endothermic fire, and a different clothing item - I run the eyebrella all the time, since it's pretty much an opposite of the beefalo hat in terms of "insulation" (Helps you to not gain heat for longer), and it provides 100% water resistance, which might be useful for springĪlso dont be afraid to burn down lone trees for heat in wintee if youre desperate. (Or you could just wear the melon hat which would keep you just above the freezin point, but farming is a terrible idea - simply not worth it) You will have ~2 days of not needing to heat up with the beefalo hat. Wear the backpack untill overheated (You can keep it on till you start taking damage, then take off the backpack and anything that insulates you, so you would not die from overheating in winter) Goal is to have 2 max temp thermal stones. Alternatively, wear the backpack and stand near the fire. Put thermal stones into the backpack, place em by a tier 4 fire pit to heat up. There's a really useful thermal stone glitch ![]() Other giants like the firefly I didn’t have a big issue with leading them away from my camp. He’s a pain in the ass for a newbie and with a short winter you’re going to struggle to prep for him. His resources are advanced and you’re probably not going to use them until a later play through. Also removing mobs will remove your access to their resources, like hounds tooth for tooth traps. I increased ponds once thinking frogs and fish are a good food supply, but increasing mobs cause them to spawn places they don’t normally spawn and then it’s hard to find a safe place to camp away from them. I wouldn’t mess too much with mob spawns. ![]() Short winter (and summer if you’re playing RoG) as this means you can get a feel for the season without having to endure it for too long. Increase food supplies (carrots, berry bushes, etc) and set pieces (this will make managing hunger and finding supplies you don’t have to use your own resources for easier)
